<p>On April 30th, the cast and crew of Sweatshop were present in Dallas, Texas for a special screening at Texas Frightmare Weekend, followed by a panel discussion hosted by Dai Green of HorrorNews.Net. Saturday, the entire cast and crew signed free posters and gave away free shirts for convention fans for nearly three hours.</p>
<p>At the convention award ceremonies on Sunday, director Stacy Davidson and Special Effects artist Marcus Koch were on hand to accept the award for Best Special Effects.</p>

<p>The film screened at the Tribeca cinemas just two days earlier to a packed house, turning away dozens of horror fans who had been standing in line for an hour in hopes of catching the film.</p>
<p>Screening before the feature were a number of short horror/sci-fi films, including <span style="font-style: italic;">Attackazoids Deploy!!</span>, <span style="font-style: italic;">Sinkhole</span>, <span style="font-style: italic;">Wheels of Death</span>, <span style="font-style: italic;">Hunger</span>, and <span style="font-style: italic;">Death In Charge</span>.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>When Sweatshop began to a pounding industrial beat, twirling glow sticks illuminated the darkened theater, followed by roaring cheers for every moment of blood and carnage.</p>
<p>Afterward, audience members and Sweatshop cast and crew mingled in the adjoining lounge where free &#8220;retro&#8221; Sweatshop posters were signed and handed out.</p>

<p>Other feature films that played the festival included <span style="font-style: italic;">Must Love Death, Maidenhead, Blood Night: The Legend of Mary Hatchet, </span>and <span style="font-style: italic;">The Revenant,</span> which became the only other feature to win awards.</p>
<p>The Sweatshop effects team honored included special effects artists Kristi Boul, Marcus Koch, Mike Oliver, and visual effects supervisor Stacy Davidson.  Davidson also co-wrote and directed the movie.</p>
